methodology, linear programming including simplex, dual simplex algorithms, post
optimal and sensitivity analysis, transportation, transshipment, assignment
algorithms.
Introduction to
Operations Research II (Senior Level at METU): Integer Programming: cutting
plane algorithms for all integer and mixed integer problems. Branch and
bound algorithms. Applications of LP. Dynamic programming. Game
theory: minimax criterion, solution of 2-person-zero-sum games. Queuing
theory and its applications.
Production and
Inventory Systems (Senior Level at METU): Basic concepts involved in production
and inventory systems: forecasting, production planning, inventory planning and
control production scheduling, dispatching and progress control.
Modeling in
Socio-Economic Systems (Senior Level at METU): Application of industrial
engineering and operations research techniques to Socio-economic systems, such
as, transportation, education, health, public utilities, and ecological
systems.
Network Flows and
Project Management (Senior Level at METU): Graphs, classification
of networks, flow network, shortest path problems and activity networks,
forward and backward pass computations, resource allocation, time-cost-trade
off problems. Students are required to prepare a real life project using
the available computer programs.

Basic framework of transportation systems analysis, mathematical programming
formulation of network flows. Forward, backward and adaptive
transportation planning. Systems analysis and design issues in road, air,
railroad, and marine transportation, Queuing theory as applied to traffic flow
problems.

Statistical Analysis (Sophomore Level at Widener): Introduction to
use of probability and decision making in administrative and social
sciences. Collection, measurement and presentation of data (descriptive
statistics). Probability distributions, expected values, sample design,
parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, and simple regression and correlation
analysis.
Statistic I (Graduate
Level at Widener): Study of descriptive and parametric statistic. Concern
is itself with managerial decision making under conditions of uncertainty using
univariate and multivariate analysis.
Intermediate
Statistical Analysis (Sophomore Level at Widener): The life cycle
approach to studying productive systems and decisions. Selection of the
product; design of the system, including product design and process selection,
layout of the physical systems, design of the quality control, production
planning, scheduling and inventory systems; manning the system; startup of the
systems; the system in steady state; revision and termination of the system.

Management (Junior Level at Widener): The life cycle approach to studying
productive systems and decisions. Selection of the product; design of the
system, including product design and process selection, layout of the physical

Programming, CPM, PERT simulation and waiting line theory as applied to
operations management decision problems.

Level at UWM): Applications of optimization techniques to deterministic and
probabilistic managerial problems.
Production Analysis
(Graduate
Level at UWM): Analysis of business systems, which direct the conversion of the
factors of production into goods and services. Emphasis on concepts and
techniques for solving contemporary production problems.

Inventory Theory (Senior Level at UWM): Study of the use of
mathematical in structuring, analyzing, and solving production and inventory
problems of different business entities.
Management Models (Junior Level
at UWM): Discussion of models in managerial problem solving. Emphasis
will be on developing an awareness of the advantages and limitations of models.
Discussion will include classical and modern statistical decision models and
mathematical programming.
